Diego Martínez, partner of the Firm. His practice mainly focuses on general corporate matters, with an emphasis in banking and securities, among others prestigious publications.
Actively and frequently participating in structured financings, secured and unsecured lending transactions, restructuring, and work-outs, private and public offerings of debt and equity, securitisation and asset-backed finance transactions, project finance private equity, venture capital and derivative transactions, as well as, financial regulatory matters.
He is also active in mergers and acquisitions and in real estate transactions, specifically in the hospitality and leisure, industrial and housing areas, representing land owners, developers, landlords and/or lenders. Diego Martínez is an expert in corporate governance matters and he is former Manager of Banking Projects at the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV).
Mr. Martínez has been recurrently recognized by Who's Who Legal: México as one of the most prestigious banking and corporate governance lawyers in Mexico.
Member of the Mexican Bar Association (Finance Law Committee); Secretary of the Mexican Corporate Governance Council of the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial (CCE); Member of the International Bar Association (IBA); Member of the American Bar Association (ABA); Member of the Audit and Legal Committee of the Board of Trustees of the American, British, Cowdray Hospital; Member of the Board of Directors of financial institutions and other important companies; Member of the Mexican Finance Law Association, Professor of negotiable instruments and credit transactions at Universidad Panamericana and of corporate governance at Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE). Mr. Martínez is Member of the Board of Directors of different corporations. Additionally, he authored several articles published by internationally recognized legal publications in connection with banking, securities, corporate governance and real estate matters. He also is an active speaker in conferences related to such law practices.
